Parent

What a signed-in parent or guardian sees in SolAssists, page by page. A parent sees only the children linked to their guardian record.

  • Academics: Study Material, Examinations

Items appear only for modules your institution has switched on. The top bar shows a unit picker (covering the children's divisions), the notifications bell and the account menu.

Dashboard

  • Hello, {first name} with "Here's how your children are doing."
  • A strip with the institution, Your role (Parent / Guardian) and Your scope.
  • Bills raised card. The hint reads "all time, whole institution".
  • Your day: usually "Nothing scheduled today" / "A quiet one. The full schedule has the rest of the week." for parents.
  • Your children ("Attendance and timetables, per child."): one entry per linked child with their division. Clicking a child opens attendance.
  • Where you can go: links to every page the role opens.

My Profile

Parent My Profile page

  • Your account: name, email, Phone (the only editable detail; click Save), Account status.
  • Your role here: Parent / Guardian.
  • Nothing else on file: "Your account is not linked to a student or staff record here — which is normal for a parent or guardian. Everything the institution holds about you is on the left."
  • Change password at the top right.

My Timetable

My Timetable shows the child's week. With two or more children, choose one in Whose timetable.

My Attendance

The page is headed Attendance ("Every day recorded for your child.").

  • Range (Last 30 days, Last term (90 days), Last 180 days), Up to (date) and Child (with two or more children).
  • Totals: days recorded, present, late, absent.
  • The month: a calendar coloured by status (Present, Late, Absent, Excused / holiday). "Click one for the times."
  • Day by day: newest first, with the status and "in at HH:MM · out at HH:MM" where known.
  • No records: Nothing recorded in this range. No linked children: No children linked to you.

Progress

Progress ("How each of your children is doing, year by year.") shows published exam results per session, with a child picker at the top right when more than one child is linked. Unpublished marks are not shown. Before any results are published: Nothing to compare yet.

Study Material

Study Material as seen by a parent

Parents see the staff Study Material list ("Homework, notes and papers for {unit} and below.") with New post greyed out. When empty: Nothing posted yet.

Partially implemented

There is no dedicated homework and notes feed for parents yet. Whether posts for the child's class appear here could not be confirmed.

Examinations

Examinations as seen by a parent

The exam list with Exam, Applies to, When, Papers, Weight and Status. New exam is greyed out. For marks, use Progress.

Invoices & Payments

Fees page as seen by a parent

The Fees page lists bills for the linked children: Student, For, Due, Billed, Outstanding (with any waived amount) and status, filtered by All, Due, Part paid, Overdue or Settled. Click a bill to see its detail. There is no online payment; pay through the institution's usual channels.

Concessions

Fees → Concessions lists fee discount requests and their decisions.

Announcements

The Communication page lists circulars. Announcements sent to the parent also arrive in the notifications bell.

Reports

Reports, Toppers tab, as seen by a parent

Attendance Reports, Subject Rankings and Toppers open the staff Reports page with the tabs Toppers, Subject ranks and Attendance.

Children who have left

A child stays on a parent's pages even after being withdrawn or after the guardian is marked as left. Access ends only when the office unlinks the guardian from the child.
